Properties and Applications: yellow. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, acetone and benzene. In concentrated sulfuric acid for orange red to brown, dilution after yellow, with brown precipitation; In concentrated sodium hydroxide solution almost insoluble. Used in printing ink, grease, paraffin wax, hydrocarbon solvent, paint, candles, plastic coloring.
