Manufacturing Methods : (a) Bis (4 – (dimethylamino) phenyl) methanone and N,N-dimethylaniline and Phosphorus trichloride condensation, and made free base; (b) N,N-dimethylaniline in the presence of Zinc chloride and phosgene reaction, and made free base; (C) Bis (4 – (dimethylamino) phenyl) methanol and N,N-dimethylaniline condensation, then will product oxidation, and made free base.

Properties and Applications: brilliant blue purple. Soluble in water is purple, soluble in ethanol to purple. In concentrated sulfuric acid to red light yellow, dilution after deep green light yellow, and then into a blue and purple. Dye aqueous solution to join sodium hydroxide have purple precipitation. Mainly used for carbon, low ballpoint pen and ink and cultural and educational supplies coloring.
