Manufacturing Methods : Bis(4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)methanone and N-(naphthalen-2-yl)naphthalen-1-amine in toluene using phosphorus oxychloride condensate, and its product disulfonated with fuming sulfuric acid and converted to the sodium salt.

Properties and Applications:  bright blue. Soluble in water and ethanol to blue. The strong sulfuric acid to red light brown, diluted into blue light green.
