Manufacturing Methods : 4-(Dimethylamino)benzaldehyde (1 Moore) and 2-Hydroxy-3-methylbenzoic acid (2 Moore) condensation, and in fiber on oxidation.

Properties and Applications: red light purple. Soluble in water is a deep red, slightly soluble in ethanol for magenta to wine red. In concentrated sulfuric acid to pale red orange brown, dilution after pink. Dye aqueous solution to join sodium hydroxide as very light red.
