Manufacturing Methods : (a) 1-Chloroanthraquinone and 2-Aminobenzoic acid condensation in the presence of Nitrobenzene with Sulfuryl chloride and chloride Iodine monochloride and cyclization, (b) Naphtho[2,3-c]acridine-5,8,14(13H)-trione chloride, about three chlorine atoms introduced. Note: commodity contains some dichloride.
Properties and Applications: red light purple. Red purple powder. Insoluble in water, soluble in 1, 2, 3, 4 – Tetrahydronaphthalene and Xylene. In concentrated sulfuric acid to orange, red purple precipitation after dilution. Alkaline reduction leuco for purple; Acid reduction leuco for brown. In the commodity dye a dichloride. Used for viscose fabric dyeing and printing, unfavorable discharge printing, can white discharge. To cotton have higher direct sex. Also can be used for wool, silk dyeing.
